Handlung
Über mangelnden Erfolg im Job kann Richterin Gwen Warwick (Bonnie Bedelia) nicht klagen. Doch im Privatleben läuft es nicht gerade rund: Weil ihr Ehemann Alan (Will Patton) immer öfter betrunken ist und beginnt, sie zu tyrannisieren, lässt sie sich auf eine Affäre mit einem Bibliothekar ein. Da wird ein Kollegen und Freund in seinem Büro ermordet. Und alle Indizien deuten auf Gwen als Hauptverdächtige.
