Handlung
Howard Ashman wuchs in einer durchschnittlichen jüdischen Familie in Baltimore mit einer außergewöhnlichen Liebe zum Musical auf. Nach dem College eröffnete er ein Theater in einem abgelegenen Teil von New York und kämpfte für jede einzelne Show - bis seine Adaption von Roger Cormans „Little Shop Of Horrors“ zu einem riesigen Off-Croadway-Hit wurde und ihn schlagartig ins Rampenlicht katapultierte. Schließlich arbeitete er am Broadway zusammen mit Oscar- und Tony-Award-Gewinner Marvin Hamlisch zusammen, bevor er nach Los Angeles ging, um dort eine Handvoll Künstler in einem Lagerhaus aufzunehmen.
